Tales of Criticalifornia
Born from the bowels of California, a wasteland where San Dimas High School Football rules, a child ventured forth. Making stops in Glendora and San Rafael, he eventually found a home in Novato. It was there he became Gojira. He wasn’t satisfied with this evolution. Things were lacking. He discovered spoken word accompanied by instruments. At first he was astonished by the sounds and their meanings. Years of absorbing these works fed his evolution. Emerging from his containment unit behind a gas station, he broke free. His goal: make beats that break necks. That’s when Hand-e-Kap records was born. A year after his evolution and escape he finally completed his change. He reached a new level and thus he began to transform. Fueled by fast food and $5 pizzas, he traveled the lands with a skateboard. He regarded the methods by which his California counterparts were, so critical. It was then he knew his name was no longer Gojira. He had become Critical Methods. Now he could experiment. His sounds were ridiculous to the outsiders. Still he continued and his knowledge grew. He gained new abilities and perfected the craft behind his prior skills. He could manipulate sounds and the waves they created. This fusion of his past and present skills mirrored that of himself. Once again he was evolving. He had found a connection with his home. The man was now known as Criticalifornia. With influence from the urban jungle and the robotic burbs, his focus was clear. He needed to bridge the gap between worlds. He created sounds and vibrations, they made the populace move their feet and nod along. He had created an elixir for their souls and the sounds no longer broke necks, but healed hearts. He knew he had to spread his message. He ventured away from the land he knew as home back towards the wasteland from he was birthed.
